Bancroft Elementary School Reviews

“Bancroft is making big improvements- There were about 300 students enrolled since it became a neighborhood school, instead of 850. A new principal is shaking up the status quo, and bringing a special arrangement with the University, which will be using Bancroft as the 1st choice for urban settings for student teachers. That means more staff, and the best educators in the state will be influencing each classroom! My child just finished 5th grade there, she got 4's on her DSTP, loved her teacher and is ready for a successful year in middle school. Then again, she is a serious kid, and never let the poor behaviors of other students influence her academics. Bancroft's biggest problem is that most of its parents had little success in school themselves, and don't know how to influence their kids to be good students. Very Sad, and not the school's fault, I think.” This review was posted by a parent.

“The academic program is wonderful, especially IEP where the students are in the classroom with other same grade students of whom are not in IEP. The children do not have recess; I am told it's because of the pursuit of academic achievement to which I, as a parent, strongly disagree with. The PTA and other school related groups need to concentrate on the school community as a whole and cease with the fund raising already!” This review was posted by a parent.
