Hard Rock Cafe Philadelphia: a Smash Hit
Few restaurant names are as recognizable as the Hard Rock Cafe. From the tell-tale neon electric guitar to that unmistakable logo, The Hard Rock Cafe has been a pillar of Philadelphia culture since 1998. With items like the personally handwritten lyrics to "I Hate Myself for Loving You" by Joan Jett, a Philadelphia native, and a hand-painted, autographed tambourine that once belonged to Jimi Hendrix, it is no wonder why Philadelphia's Hard Rock Cafe is such a hit around town.
Located downtown on Market Street, Philadelphia's Hard Rock Cafe is marked by that famous nearly-three-story lighted electric guitar that bares the Hard Rock logo. The inside boasts low-yet-elaborate lighting, rich, dark carpentry and hundreds of one-of-a-kind pieces of musical memorabilia that are as close as many people will ever get to touching real rock legends. In addition to the Hendrix and Joan Jett items mentioned above, Philadelphia's Hard Rock Cafe also showcases a leather jacket once worn by rocker Jim Morrison, Elton John's famous Uncle Sam costume, and a set of animation cells used in the making of The Beatles' "Yellow Submarine" video, along with hundreds of other unique items.
The impressive and ever-growing menu at Philadelphia's Hard Rock Cafe is nothing to sneeze at, either. To start of your rockin' experience, try some of the Hard Rock's Hard Rock Nachos with pulled barbecued pork that's been simmered in Classic Rock Sauce. If you like wings, then Hard Rock also serves up some perfectly-fried chicken wings complete in one of the Hard Rock Cafe's signature sauces.
For your meal, you can't go wrong with Philadelphia's Hard Rock Cafe New York Strip steak. This hearty three-quarter pound cut is grilled to your liking and topped with merlot-garlic butter and served up with a big helping of cheddar mashed potatoes.
If you're itchin' for chicken, the grilled Hawaiian chicken plate is a no-fail taste-pleaser for all who order. Half a roasted chicken meets with a ginger and soy marinade for twelve full hours, and then grilled to perfection. Topped off with sliced pineapple and green onions, this dish is a smash hit.
The Hard Rock Cafe barbecued ribs are certainly a local favorite. A full rack of tender pork ribs rubbed with a sweet-yet-savory HRC rub and then slathered with hickory barbecue sauce makes for a messy, delicious meal that no one can turn down. Served with seasoned fries, ranch beans and cool, creamy coleslaw, this is a meal that no one can resist.
A variety of salads, sandwiches, and burgers are also available. If you're sweet tooth is craving dessert, try the Tastykake sundae with three butter cakes, Haagen Daaz vanilla bean ice cream and butterscotch sauce.
